In the late evening hours of Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Marrero, Louisiana, 19-year-old Miquisha Nash was the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting. She was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by 25-year-old Ronnie Videau, when the vehicle was ambushed.
The pair was traveling on the Westbank Expressway near Robinson Avenue at approximately 9:24 p.m. when a burgundy or reddish-colored minivan pulled alongside their car.
Occupants of the minivan opened fire on the Monte Carlo, striking Nash in the side and back. Videau, who was believed by authorities to be the intended target, was not injured.
After the shooting, Videau drove to a nearby street and called for help. Miquisha Nash was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigators at the time stated that the bullets were likely meant for her boyfriend, Ronnie Videau. Videau was taken into custody at the scene on outstanding warrants but was not charged in connection with the shooting.
Despite the initial investigation and the identification of a person of interest, there have been no public announcements of any arrests or suspects in the murder of Miquisha Nash. The case has seemingly gone cold, leaving her death officially unsolved. Authorities believed her to be an innocent victim who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
