In a turn of events that shattered a late summer evening, 36-year-old Kenneth Antwan Jones, a male resident of Washington D.C., was fatally shot in Oxon Hill, Maryland. On the night of August 23, 2014, Prince George's County police responded to a call about a shooting in the 5000 block of Glassmanor Drive. Upon their arrival at approximately 11:50 p.m., they discovered Jones suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence. Their attention soon focused on a suspect, and within a couple of days, an arrest was made. On August 25, 2014, the Prince George's County Police Department announced that they had taken 36-year-old Antjuon Riddick of Oxon Hill into custody. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Jones's death.

Following his arrest, Antjuon Riddick faced the judicial system. In 2015, he was convicted of second-degree murder in the Prince George's County Circuit Court. This conviction carried a sentence that included supervised probation, which he was serving at the time of a subsequent arrest in 2022 on federal firearms charges.
