On a late summer evening in Oxon Hill, Maryland, a dispute between two acquaintances escalated to a fatal conclusion. On September 4, 2020, at approximately 9:45 pm, patrol officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Audrey Lane following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Justin Easter outside, unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly pointed to a suspect who was known to him. The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit identified 28-year-old Donnell Alphonzo Brown as the individual responsible for the shooting. The preliminary investigation suggested that the motive for the fatal encounter was a dispute between the two men.
Within days of the incident, Donnell Alphonzo Brown, who had no fixed address, was apprehended and charged in connection with Justin Easter's death. The charges brought against him were significant, including first and second-degree murder, along with other related offenses. Following his arrest, a court commissioner ordered that Brown be held at the Department of Corrections without bond, pending further legal proceedings.
