In the early evening of April 11, 2024, the quiet streets of Oxon Hill, Maryland, were disturbed by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were dispatched to the area of Neptune Avenue and Audrey Lane following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man lying outside, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Tyrone Avent of Oxon Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene.
