On the evening of December 17, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a neighborhood in Forest Heights, Maryland, leaving two young men dead. One of the victims was identified as 24-year-old Brian Freeman of Forest Heights. When officers from the Forest Heights Police Department arrived at the 100 block of Seneca Drive around 5:50 p.m., they discovered Freeman and another man, 21-year-old Sakou Mathis of Washington, D.C., both suffering from gunshot wounds.
