In the early evening of December 17, 2024, a quiet street in Forest Heights, Maryland, became the scene of a tragic incident that claimed the life of 21-year-old Sakou Mathis of Washington, D.C. At approximately 5:50 p.m., officers from the Forest Heights Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Seneca Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered two men who had sustained gunshot wounds.
