In the pre-dawn hours of May 11, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the weekend quiet at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Inside a parking garage on the property, 37-year-old Daniel Antonio Thomas of Washington, D.C., was found suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, sparking a homicide investigation that would soon identify a suspect.
