In the pre-dawn hours of May 11, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the weekend quiet at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Inside a parking garage on the property, 37-year-old Daniel Antonio Thomas of Washington, D.C., was found suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, sparking a homicide investigation that would soon identify a suspect.
Authorities responded to the shooting at approximately 4:50 a.m.
after being alerted by MGM Special Police and Security. Through their investigation, detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department identified 26-year-old Dayon Neal as the alleged perpetrator. A warrant was subsequently issued for Neal's arrest, charging him with first and second-degree murder, as well as related offenses.
In the weeks following the fatal shooting, law enforcement has continued to search for Dayon Neal, who is described as having no fixed address. A cash reward has been offered for information leading to his capture as he remains at large. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
