In the spring of 2017, a horrific act of violence shattered the quiet of a Metairie apartment complex, leaving four people dead, including 56-year-old John Edward Henry. The discovery was made on the evening of March 15th, after a woman, concerned she couldn't reach her mother, asked Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies to conduct a welfare check at the apartment on West Monterey Court.
What they found was a scene of unimaginable carnage.
Inside one of the apartments, deputies discovered the bodies of two men and a woman who had been shot and stabbed. Responding to reports of a toddler seen wandering alone, they found a 2-year-old child unharmed in the apartment. As the investigation unfolded, a fourth victim, another woman, was found deceased in an adjacent apartment, also a victim of the brutal attack. The victims were later identified as John Edward Henry, Rosemary Charles, 62, and Kyle Turner, 40. The fourth victim's name was not immediately released. The child found at the scene was the daughter of one of the female victims.
The investigation into the quadruple homicide quickly led to the identification of a suspect. Authorities began a manhunt for Armande "G-Money" Tart, a 22-year-old man who was believed to have been at the apartment complex around the time of the murders. Described as "armed and dangerous," Tart was a known drug dealer with a history of violence. He was eventually apprehended and charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
A second suspect, 28-year-old Tavis "TJ" Johnson, was also arrested in connection with the murders. Investigators believed that the killings were drug-related, stemming from a dispute over narcotics. The community was left reeling from the senseless loss of life, with friends and family of the victims struggling to comprehend the violence that had taken their loved ones.
