In the historic Holy Cross neighborhood of New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward, a life was abruptly cut short on February 3, 2018. Jess John Wood Jr., a 37-year-old male, was fatally shot under circumstances that remain largely unclear to the public. Born and raised in New Orleans, Wood was a man of considerable intellect and ambition, having earned degrees from both Southeastern Louisiana University and Loyola School of Law.
