On the afternoon of June 14, 2019, police in Lafayette, Louisiana, responded to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon in the 200 block of Alice Drive. Upon arrival, they found 44-year-old Leo Lafauci suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The male victim was a U.S. Navy veteran and was remembered by his family as a loving father, brother, grandfather, and son.
