John Paul Batiste, a 37-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 23, 2016, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Batiste was found shot multiple times while sitting in a car on Philomine Street. He was transported to Lafayette General Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident left the community in shock and mourning, as Batiste was a beloved member of his family and community.
