In the late hours of April 28, 2021, the life of 27-year-old Treveaughn D. Grant, an African American male, was tragically cut short on a street in Shreveport, Louisiana. At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers from the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to the 2600 block of Roosevelt Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Grant lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The subsequent investigation into the homicide led authorities to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting. A Caddo Parish Grand Jury later handed down an indictment against Sa'Teriq Lajuan Johnson, a 22-year-old man from Shreveport. The indictment formally charged Johnson with one count of second-degree murder, alleging that he was responsible for the death of Treveaughn Grant. The case against Johnson then proceeded through the judicial system.
