Eric DeWayne Harris Jr., an 18-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 28, 2018, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was riding a borrowed bike home from a store when he was fatally shot in the Martin Luther King neighborhood of Shreveport. This area, located in the northwest corner of the state, had seen a decrease in homicides in the first half of 2018 compared to the previous year, but the violence still claimed the life of young Eric.
