On September 15, 1979, 17-year-old Patty McDaniel and her fraternal twin sister, Peggy, went missing from Pompano Beach, Florida. The two girls had recently moved to Pompano Beach from Live Oak, Florida, where they had been living with their father and his new wife. Patty and Peggy had grown up together with their mother in New Jersey but relocated to Florida earlier in 1979.
