Peggy Leslie McDaniel, along with her twin sister Patty, was last seen on September 15, 1979, in Pompano Beach, Florida. The twins, aged 17 at the time, had moved to the area from Live Oak, Florida, with two acquaintances, Marvin Warren and Eddie Gross. Shortly after arriving, the sisters found work, but they soon expressed a desire to return to New Jersey, where they had lived previously with their mother.
On the day of their disappearance, the sisters were last seen with a man named Nelson George Johnson. They planned to go to a disco club called "The Plank." However, four days later, Johnson was found shot to death in the trunk of his car. Despite extensive searches and investigations, there has been no sign of either Peggy or Patty since that night. Authorities suspect the sisters may have witnessed Johnson's murder, which could have contributed to their disappearance.
Various reports have surfaced over the years, including a sighting of the twins at a truck stop on the Florida Turnpike, but none have been confirmed. The case remains unsolved, and both sisters are still listed as missing.
