In the summer of 2017, the life of 25-year-old Markzaulous Lewis was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. On the morning of Thursday, July 27, 2017, Shreveport Police were called to the 7000 block of Southside Drive in the Cedar Grove neighborhood in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Lewis inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
He was immediately transported to a local hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on July 28, 2017.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly led to a suspect. Within hours of the shooting, Shreveport Police, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force, apprehended 18-year-old D'Angelo Wilson. Investigators believed that an altercation between Wilson and another individual escalated, leading to the fatal shooting of Lewis, who was not involved in the initial dispute.
Following his arrest, D'Angelo Wilson was charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Markzaulous Lewis. He was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail as the legal process against him began.
