In the late hours of May 5, 2015, the life of 34-year-old Herman Gaston Jr. was tragically cut short in what remains an unsolved mystery. A resident of Okatie, South Carolina, Gaston was driving within his own University Park community when the fatal event unfolded. Around 11 p.m., he had left his apartment with the simple intention of going to a nearby gas station. It was a routine trip that would end in a devastating and abrupt act of violence.
