In the tight-knit community of New Orleans, the loss of 50-year-old Monique Marie Blunt, known to her loved ones as 'Mo,' sent ripples of grief and shock. On the night of November 27, 2021, a Saturday, Monique was driving with her young son after leaving her mother's home. As they traveled along Robert E. Lee Boulevard in the Gentilly neighborhood, their vehicle was tragically caught in the crossfire of a shootout.
