On a summer night in New Orleans, the lives of two young women were tragically cut short. Gerhonda Elphage, a 25-year-old Black female, and her friend, 18-year-old Irielle T. King, were found shot to death on August 23, 2014. The initial investigation into their deaths yielded few leads, and for a time, the case grew cold, leaving their families waiting for answers.
