In the early morning hours of July 16, 2020, 20-year-old Dereial Manning was fatally shot at an apartment complex in New Orleans East. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the 12100 block of the I-10 Service Road. Manning was visiting a friend at the Carmel Spring apartment complex with her two-year-old son, who was present at the time of the shooting.
