In the spring of 2022, the life of 17-year-old Alashia Collins, an African American female from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On the evening of April 22nd, Collins was at the Broadmoor Plantation Apartments on Florida Boulevard where she was involved in a physical altercation. As she was attempting to drive away from the scene, she was fatally shot. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
