In the late afternoon of November 16, 2019, the life of 20-year-old Denika Jacobs, an African American woman, was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Around 3:50 p.m., she was discovered outside her home on Underwood Avenue with a gunshot wound. Emergency services were called to the scene, and she was quickly transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for her life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Denika Jacobs ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Baton Rouge Police Department promptly launched a homicide investigation into the shooting death of Denika Jacobs.
