In the late hours of a Friday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, leading to the death of 51-year-old Shalama Dabney, an African American woman. On September 24, 2021, police responded to a call on Elgin Street around 11:30 p.m., where they found that Dabney had been fatally shot.
