William P. Bosak, a 33-year-old white male, was a dedicated police officer with the Chicago Police Department. On March 3, 1979, while on duty, he was tragically killed in an ambush attack. Officer Bosak and his partner, Officer Roger Van Schaik, had just completed a traffic stop near the intersection of 115th Street and May Street in Chicago when they were ambushed by Kenneth Allen, a 36-year-old man who harbored resentment towards the police following a previous arrest.
