Death by Force

Terry Tyee Mubarak Barry, 21, was shot and killed on September 26, 2017, in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The shooting occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. when Barry and a 24-year-old man were both struck in the head by gunfire. The incident took place in the 7000 block of South Chappel Avenue, an area that had seen rising levels of violence. Barry was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, at 1:23 p.m.
