In the early morning hours of December 12, 2018, a Snellville man, Darius Daniels, a 28-year-old Black male, was found deceased in a hotel room at the Homestay Suites on Stone Mountain Highway in unincorporated Lilburn. Gwinnett County Police officers responded to a 'person shot' call shortly before 4:00 a.m. and discovered Mr. Daniels' body upon their arrival. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.
