In the summer of 2014, the life of 25-year-old Damatre Hedrick, an African American male, was tragically cut short in Decatur, Georgia. On the late evening of July 13th, Hedrick was in the front yard of his home when he was shot multiple times. The sudden eruption of violence in the residential neighborhood sent shockwaves through the community. Hedrick was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries before he was able to provide a description of his assailant.
