In the pre-dawn hours of October 30th, 2021, tragedy struck a family in Decatur, Georgia, when 17-year-old Eliia Alvarez was fatally shot inside his home. The quiet of the morning was shattered by noises outside the family's residence on G Vista Circle. It is believed that Eliia, a student at Elizabeth Andrews High School, went to the front door to investigate the sounds. As he pressed his ear to the door, a single, fatal shot was fired, striking him in the head.
