On February 17, 2023, Brian Dykes, a 41-year-old resident of Covington, Georgia, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Dunkin’ location in the Panthersville area of DeKalb County, Georgia. The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. at the Dunkin’ store situated at 2704 Candler Road, near the interchange with I-20.
According to the investigation, Dykes was making a purchase at the Dunkin’ when a 17-year-old, identified as Lamarion Orr, noticed a gun in Dykes’ back waistband.
