On the evening of June 26, 2023, 19-year-old Demario "Lil Yo" Hollis was fatally shot in Decatur, Georgia. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near a Krispy Kreme on Wesley Chapel Road. According to police reports, a suspect's vehicle approached Hollis's car and opened fire in an apparent drive-by shooting. Despite sustaining serious injuries, Hollis managed to drive away from the scene and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
