In the autumn of 2014, the community of Yuma, Arizona, was unsettled by the discovery of a young woman's body. Stephanie Fedorka, a 29-year-old Caucasian female, was found deceased on October 15, 2014. Her body was recovered from the waters of the lower Colorado River. An autopsy would later reveal the grim truth of her demise: she had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The discovery launched a thorough, four-month-long homicide investigation that spanned two states.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office worked in collaboration with the Imperial County Sheriff's Office to piece together the events that led to Stephanie's tragic death.
