In the early morning hours of December 20, 2017, the city of Yuma, Arizona, was rattled by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a call shortly after 5 a.m., police discovered 23-year-old Keishawna Precious Rattler suffering from a gunshot wound. The young Black/African American woman was immediately transported to a local hospital in serious condition, her life hanging precariously in the balance.
