On September 22, 2022, Kristin Carrillo, a 28-year-old resident of San Luis, Arizona, was found dead along with Daniel Herrera Jr., 31, also from San Luis, in Yuma County. The bodies were discovered near County 13th Street and Avenue F in the Yuma/Somerton area. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) received a report of two unresponsive individuals, and upon arrival, deputies found both victims with apparent gunshot wounds.
