On a tragic day in Johnson County, Kentucky, April 29, 1929, the life of 15-year-old Bernie Gibson was cut short. The young man was on his family's farm near Paintsville with his parents, Lee and Cassie Gibson, and a family friend, Wallace Hannah. While they were waiting for a plow to arrive to start their agricultural work, they consumed moonshine.
