In the late hours of a Tuesday, on September 1, 2020, the life of 23-year-old Troyzavia Rhodes, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Mobile, Alabama. Police responded to a call at approximately 9:55 p.m. at the 1700 block of Colonial Oaks Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered Rhodes at his own residence, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The initial investigation into the death of the young man was launched, with authorities seeking to piece together the events that led
to the shooting. In the months that followed, however, the case grew cold. By December of that year, the Mobile Police Department publicly listed Troyzavia Rhodes's death as an unsolved homicide. In an effort to generate new leads, the department announced a cash reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for his death.
Despite the appeal to the public for assistance and the ongoing investigation, there has been no significant progress reported in the case. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified or taken into custody in connection with the murder of Troyzavia Rhodes.
