Jai'mel Anderson, an eight-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on January 6, 2015, in Fort Valley, Georgia. Jai'mel was playing video games in the living room of his apartment at the Indian Oaks Apartments when he was struck by gunfire. The shots were fired through the front door of the apartment, hitting Jai'mel multiple times in the upper torso. Despite the efforts of responding officers who rendered aid, Jai'mel succumbed to his injuries.
