On October 5, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Fort Valley, Georgia, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Naun Mendez Melendez. The incident took place early in the morning, with police being dispatched to the 400 block of Boulevard Street at approximately 3:23 a.m. in response to a report of a fight in progress involving weapons.
