Timothy Kevin "Tim" Smith, a 31-year-old white male police officer from Eastman, Georgia, tragically lost his life on August 13, 2016. Officer Smith was responding to a report of a suspicious person carrying a firearm at the intersection of Smith Street and Main Street around 9:30 PM. Upon arriving at the scene, he encountered the suspect, Royheem Delshawn Deeds, a 24-year-old black male.
