In the early morning hours of Monday, March 18, 2024, a dispute between two brothers in Eastman, Georgia, ended in a tragic death. Zachary John Taylor, a 24-year-old male, was shot and killed. The incident unfolded around 2:00 a.m. on Wilson Woodard Road, where Dodge County deputies responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Zachary Taylor with a single gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services transported Zachary to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. An investigation into the shooting was launched by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The preliminary findings of the investigation indicated that Zachary had been involved in a fight with his older brother, 27-year-old Andrew Taylor, which escalated to the fatal shooting.
Following the initial investigation, the GBI arrested Andrew Taylor. He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of felony murder in connection with his brother's death.
