In the early morning hours of Saturday, November 29, 2025, a violent incident unfolded in Eastman, Georgia, that ultimately claimed the life of 44-year-old Ernie Lee Jordan. Around 1:00 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 200 block of 1st Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Jordan suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a nearby trauma center, where medical personnel worked to treat his injuries. Although he fought for his life in critical condition through the night, Jordan succumbed to his wounds and passed away the following afternoon on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
The investigation, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in conjunction with the Eastman Police Department, quickly identified a suspect in connection with the shooting. Authorities arrested 29-year-old Daysia Kiwanna Bolden, a resident of Eastman who had previously been in a personal relationship with the victim. Initial inquiries revealed that the altercation between the two had escalated into violence, leading to the shooting outside the residence on 1st Avenue. Bolden was taken into custody and booked into the Dodge County Jail.
Initially, Bolden faced charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. However, following Jordan’s death, the charges against her were significantly upgraded. On December 2, 2025, investigators secured additional warrants charging Bolden with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, tampering with evidence, and simple battery. The case file was prepared for submission to the Oconee District Attorney’s Office for prosecution as the community grappled with the fatal outcome of the domestic dispute.
