On March 15, 2023, William Ralph Harrell Jr., a 49-year-old resident of Eastman, Georgia, was tragically killed in a violent incident that also involved arson.

The incident occurred at Harrell's residence located at 724 Old River Road in Eastman, GA. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Joel Jared Butler, a 31-year-old also from Eastman, was identified as the suspect in Harrell's murder.
