The footage showed a man in a construction hat who was believed to have been the last person seen with Moore. This individual was identified as Felix Jermaine Shirley, a construction worker employed at the nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Authorities were able to track Shirley's movements with the victim through surveillance footage, which ultimately led to his identification and arrest.
Felix Shirley was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm in connection with Misha Moore's death. The investigation revealed that Shirley had encountered Moore at the Five Points MARTA station and the two walked to Underground Atlanta. An argument ensued after Shirley offered Moore $8 for sex, which she rejected as not being enough. In a fit of rage, Shirley threw her against a wall, kicked her, and then fatally shot her twice with a. 22-caliber revolver. The entire brutal attack was captured on surveillance video.
In March 2018, a jury found Felix Shirley guilty of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison plus an additional five years.
