In the early morning hours of a Friday in March 2019, the life of 19-year-old Omarian Banks was tragically cut short in what was a simple case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Banks, a young Black man and aspiring musician who had just moved to The Retreat apartment complex on Fairburn Road in Atlanta, was returning home in a Lyft. The driver dropped him off at the wrong breezeway, a small mistake that would have fatal consequences.
