On a tragic evening, Nena Rahman Harris, a 38-year-old FBI special agent, lost her life in a public park in Chamblee, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. The incident, which unfolded on Saturday, July 4, 2015, was determined by police to be a domestic-related murder-suicide.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired at Dresden Park at approximately 8:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of Nena Harris and her 34-year-old husband, Robert Attlen Harris.
The investigation concluded that Robert Harris shot and killed his wife before taking his own life.
Tragically, the couple's 2-year-old child was found nearby at the scene but was physically unharmed. The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed Nena Harris's employment as a special agent with the Atlanta field office. In a statement, the FBI expressed devastation at the loss of a colleague and offered thoughts and prayers for her family. Due to the nature of the incident as a murder-suicide, there were no arrests to be made, with Robert Harris being the sole suspect.
