On December 24, 2024, 18-year-old Sekya Smith was tragically shot and killed in Atlanta, Georgia. A senior at Carver High School, Sekya was an accomplished athlete, excelling in basketball, softball, and track. She was set to graduate in May 2025 and had been accepted to Albany State University to study criminal justice and play college basketball.
