On June 17, 1945, Mrs. Callie Elizabeth Davis Brown, a 69-year-old African American woman, died suddenly while visiting her daughter, Roberta Elder, in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Watkinsville, Georgia, Mrs. Brown had traveled to Atlanta to stay with Roberta. Her death was unexpected and occurred within the household, with the cause officially recorded as 'undetermined.' She was subsequently buried in Watkinsville Cemetery alongside other family members.
