In the summer of 2017, a domestic tragedy unfolded in Augusta, Georgia, ending the life of 60-year-old Ronald Kearse. On a Saturday night in June, authorities were called to his residence where they found him deceased from a gunshot wound. The ensuing investigation quickly focused on a suspect who was intimately familiar with the victim: his own son.
