In the quiet city of Albany, Georgia, a horrific scene unfolded on the night of June 27, 2017. Inside a residence at 2314 East Alberson Drive, 26-year-old Adrionna Holmes, a female, was found dead alongside two men, Demarquis Williams, 25, and Tyquis Smith, 23. The discovery sent shockwaves through the community, leaving friends and family in a state of disbelief and immense grief. The brutality of the crime was particularly jarring; the three victims had been shot a total of 25 times.
Adrionna herself had been shot nine times. Tragically, her two young children, a one-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, were present in the home at the time of the murders but were physically unharmed.
The investigation into the triple homicide launched by the Albany Police Department soon began to unravel a complex and violent series of events. It was determined that two different firearms were used in the commission of the murders. As detectives pieced together evidence and followed leads, several suspects emerged. The first to be apprehended was Ticorey Frazier. A tip led investigators to Frazier, who was already in custody on an unrelated firearms charge. Further investigation connected him to the East Alberson Drive murders, and he was subsequently charged. The search for other individuals involved continued, with police identifying Shon Mallory, Kareem Williams, and Quadarrien Harvey as additional suspects. Mallory was eventually located and arrested in Orlando, Florida, under an alias and was extradited back to Albany to face charges.
The prosecution that followed revealed a wider criminal enterprise. The four men, Ticorey Frazier, Kareem Williams, Quadarrien Harvey, and Shon Mallory, were not only charged in the triple homicide but also in a preceding home invasion. During that earlier crime, they had stolen firearms and a vehicle, and had shot the homeowner in the back, leaving him paralyzed. Following a three-week jury trial, all four defendants were found guilty on a multitude of charges, including three counts of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery. In November 2023, a Dougherty County Superior Court Judge sentenced each of the four men to three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, ensuring they would spend the remainder of their lives in prison for the devastating trail of violence that ended the lives of Adrionna Holmes, Demarquis Williams, and Tyquis Smith.
