On January 27, 2023, 48-year-old Jerri Anita Dudley was fatally shot in the head at the Sunrise Inn, located at 2706 N. Slappey Blvd. in Albany, Georgia. Officers from the Albany Police Department responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 a.m., but Dudley succumbed to her injuries.
