In the quiet, early morning hours of Monday, October 23, 2017, the tranquility of a northwest Albany, Georgia neighborhood was shattered by a single gunshot. Inside a residence at 1201 Valley Road, 62-year-old Diane Kelly, a white female, was found in her bedroom, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to her face. The call to the police came at approximately 4:49 a.m. from her husband, David Kelly. He initially told officers that he heard a gunshot and discovered his wife's body.
